Our annual carnival is around the corner! But we can't make this happen without YOU. Our game and concessions booths are staffed by Mission parents, grandparents, alum, and any other community members who would like to help out!
Have a responsible middle or high schooler who needs community service hours? Sign them up!
Each class is responsible for staffing one booth (which has been selected by their teacher).

Fall Carnival

We hope you plan to join us for a day of family fun, at the Mission Avenue Open School Fall Carnival. The carnival will feature carnival games, face painting, music, food trucks, an obstacle course/slide bounce house (open to kids 4 and older), and more!
Entry to the carnival is free, but tickets are required for most activities. Pre-order your tickets for discounted ticket pricing. For planning pre-order purchases, the prices of the attractions are as follows:
Game Booths= 1 ticket (we will have ~12 game/activity booths)
Cake Walk = 1 ticket
Face Painting= 1 ticket
Colored Hairspray = 1 ticket
Inflatable Obstacle Course Slide Combo= 3 tickets
Popcorn/Soda = 1 ticket

The countdown is officially ON! Our first ever COLOR RUN is almost here!
Date: October 15, 2026
What is a COLOR RUN?
Similar to a "jog-a-thon" students will run or walk the course while passing through COLOR STATIONS where volunteers will give a light spray of color water onto their shirts provided by PTA!
This year we are doing our Color Run in house - which means we get to keep 100% of the proceeds! Our goal is $25,000! ALL funds raised will go to support field trips, student enrichment & programs at Mission!
How to support your runner(s) in the Color Run:
Register your student as a runner and share their fundraising goal
Donate to your runner's team (class)
Purchase and decorate a sign, which will be posted around the track the day of the run.
Contests will be held leading up to the day of the Color Run, including a popcorn party for the class with the most registered runners, the opportunity to silly string the staff for runners that raise $100+, and more!
The Color Run is made possible by volunteers, please sign up to volunteer here.

This year's read-a-thon has officially kicked off! Check your email for your student's 99Pledges page information. You can also access your student's page by searching on our main fundraiser page.
Our goal is to read 80,000 minutes as a school from now until Wednesday, 5/20, and fundraise $12k in pledges for PTA to continue to support enrichment programs for our amazing students!
Reading minutes include being read to, reading as a class/group, or individually. Classroom and individual student prizes include fun grab bag items, scholastic books and classroom pizza parties!

Registration is officially OPEN for Mission’s 2026 school play — Madagascar, A Musical Adventure Jr.! And this year, tuition is FREE for all participants! Every Mission student in grades TK–6 is invited to join the fun. Auditions will help us match students to roles, but there are no cuts — every child who wants to participate will be part of the show. (TK/K students are not required to audition.)
Not interested in being ON the stage? We also welcome students who want to help backstage with sets, props, costumes, makeup, lights, and music!

ALL walkers, bike, and rollers who join us at Mission North Park will get a sticker. PTA will also be located at the drop off gate providing a light snack for all participants (even those who come from home) upon arrival.
Please note that children are not to be dropped off at the park and left unattended. If you will not be walking with your child, make sure you have arranged to have another adult in charge of supervising your student(s).

Volunteer Fingerprinting

At Mission, we love volunteers! Before volunteering you must be cleared by the district. That includes being fingerprinted. Head over to the district office board room from 5-6:30 pm. This is a FREE walk-in clinic for volunteer fingerprinting. Make sure you have completed your verification form prior to fingerprinting and have a valid photo ID.
