Registration is now OPEN for our 2026 musical, Madagascar Jr.

For more than two decades, the Mission PTA has proudly sponsored an all-school musical every other year, giving students a chance to experience the joy of performing, teamwork, and creativity. It’s one of Mission’s most beloved traditions—bringing our community together through rehearsals, laughter, and unforgettable memories on stage. This year’s show is Madagascar, A Musical Adventure Jr., and we’re excited to welcome our students to join in the fun!

How Participation Works

All students who register and audition will be part of the show—there are no cuts. Auditions are simply to help match students to roles that fit their strengths and interests. Every performer will have a chance to shine! Fourth - sixth grade students who prefer to stay behind the scenes can sign up for our tech crew, helping with sets, props, costumes, lighting, and sound.

Rehearsals

• Auditions: December 8 or December 10 (choose one date)

• Rehearsals Begin: After winter break

• Schedule: Rehearsals will take place Mondays and Wednesdays after school, with specific schedules provided once casting is complete.

• NOTE: Our TK/Kinder students are not required to audition.

Cost

Participation is free this year, thanks to support from the San Juan Unified School District, the Mission PTA, and generous community sponsors. Optional donations are welcome to help sustain arts education and future productions at Mission.

About the Play

Madagascar Jr. follows Alex the Lion, Marty the Zebra, Gloria the Hippo, and Melman the Giraffe on a wild adventure from the Central Park Zoo to the beaches of Madagascar. It’s full of music, dancing, and laughter—perfect for Mission’s young performers and families!
