Welcome to the new Mission PTA website. Pardon our dust!
One of the most important roles on the PTA is the Class Representative — or “Class Rep” for short. Every grade level needs at least one official Class Rep to serve as the liaison between the PTA and grade-level families (ideally, one per classroom). It’s a simple but meaningful way to stay connected, support your teacher, and help build a stronger school community.
Here’s what the role looks like:
Be a friendly point of contact. Help share PTA info and events with your class, and be available if parents have questions. You don’t need to know all the answers — just help connect them to someone who does.
Stay in the know. We’d love for you to attend PTA meetings when you can. If you have to miss one, no worries — a liaison will send you a quick recap with anything you need to share.
Share updates by email. After each PTA meeting, you’ll get a ready-to-go email with PTA announcements. You can copy and paste it (and tweak as needed) to send to your class and teacher. Easy!
Post to your class Facebook page. If your class has a group, feel free to post there too. Not on Facebook? No problem — you can ask another parent to help with that part.
Help round up volunteers for your class carnival booth. You don’t need to plan the booth, just help gather a few parents to fill the time slots for your class or grade’s station in October.
Lend a hand for Teacher Appreciation. PTA plans a fun week in May to celebrate our amazing teachers. We’ll give you ideas and support — you’ll just help coordinate small touches like breakfast, flowers, or cards. You’re also welcome to help organize other simple appreciation gestures throughout the year.
It’s a fun and rewarding way to get involved — and we’ll give you everything you need to make it easy. Thank you for considering being a Class Rep! If this sounds like something you’d like to do, please email classreps@missionpta.org.
